Basking in more than 300 days of sunshine each year, the Coast offers golden surf beaches, a rainforest-clad mountain hinterland and chic shopping and dining, making it a a top spot for gay and lesbian travellers.
The Gold Coast Hinterland provides a myriad of opportunity for exploration including bush walking on the many trails of varying difficulty, scenic waterfalls and swimming holes, view where on a clear day you can see forever. Springbrook is a 45 minutes drive and well worth every kilometre and others including O'Reilly's Plateau are a bit further out. There are also scenic circuit drives which take in much of the beauty of the area.
The local shopping precinct of Burleigh Heads retains all the charm of a small village but if it is serious shopping you are after there are the major centres of Robina, Pacific Fair and Harbour Town all within 30 minutes drive.
The Gold Coast is well known for it theme parks – Movie World, Sea World, Wet & Wild and Dream World. These parks are 30 minutes drive up the Pacific Motorway towards Brisbane. In addition there are informational parks in the opposite direction across the New South Wales Border – Melaleuca World and Tropical Fruit World both within easy reach by road.
Then there are the beaches – from the Spit at the north (north of Surfers Paradise) to Byron Bay in Northern New South Wales - (Kings Beach is a favourite of gays and nudists) – they are some of the best in the world.
Bush House is a small guest house (two rooms only) which is exclusively for gay males so you can feel relaxed just being yourself. You will find tranquillity – here doing nothing but other than have a hot spa or sit by the pool and gaze over the valley views and relax!
